Joel is the Cybersecurity Officer for Siemens Industry, Inc., Smart Infrastructure (SI) in the U.S. responsible for the IT/OT security strategy and operations within the SI organization for the U.S. and in some areas Canada and Mexico.
Formerly, Joel was with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as their Cyber Division's lead for threats to Industrial Control Systems (ICS). In his capacity at FBI HQ, Joel worked closely with FBI Field Offices, the Intelligence Community, and the Private Sector to address cyber threats to ICS. Joel also represented the FBI on White House National Security Council (NSC) working groups.
Joel routinely developed and delivered briefings to various levels of representatives from private companies, public organizations, and government and military organizations, to include the heads of agencies and departments as well as other senior executives both within the US government and from other foreign governments. Prior to joining the FBI, Joel was an emergency manager and earned his B.A. International Studies from Colorado State University.
