The Pop in Your Job (What moves you? Why do you love your job?)

What excites me most about my job is the opportunity to be at the forefront of pioneering transformation on an industrial scale. At Saint-Gobain, I’m deeply involved in shaping initiatives that will revolutionize markets for years to come, and I’m able to see these strategies deliver tangible results. I enjoy connecting the dots across different business units, influencing culture, and driving sustainable growth.

The dynamic nature of my role keeps me energized—I might be solving a problem in the U.S. one minute, and addressing a new challenge in Europe the next. I work alongside incredibly intelligent and experienced professionals, from PhDs to seasoned business leaders, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.

Beyond the business side, I’m driven by the chance to empower underrepresented communities. Helping them unlock opportunities with the right systems and structures is where the real pop in my work comes from, as it brings together multiple aspects of my career to serve the community.

John Carrier

Senior Lecturer, MIT Sloan School of Management

My focus is to reduce Human Struggle in Operations and Maintenance - which applies to all systems whether they be physical operations, software development, information processing, or somewhere in between. The outcome is improved margins, reduced risk, higher retention and morale - but most important is the transformation of the organization into a more agile and responsive system. I work with your company's talent to address the 'stubborn' problems holding your organization back from its full potential.

Most recent value creation projects -
- Working with Fortune 50 F&B company, have currently reduced operational changeovers in five of their LATAM facilities by over 40%, and the efficiency of two factory maintenance changeovers by over 30%, while laying the groundwork for the company's digital transformation. Half were conducted 'live on-line' using direct video feeds for plant gemba walks.

- DIrected Heineken and Valiot in identifying 1 million cases of beer per month of 'hidden capacity' via diagnosis of weaknesses in their digital capabilities (https://news.mit.edu/2021/unleashing-capacity-heineken-mexico-with-systems-thinking-from-mit-0607)

- Co-launched very popular Organizational Risk & Resiliency course for Sloan Executive Education, with Prof. Retsef Levi, DIrector of MIT Operations Research Center. Unique approach based on the Sloan School's deep experience in System Dynamics and Organizational Behavior, as well as drawing from Industry 4.0 tech advances.
